Bids can be made directly on Instagram in the comments, via DM or via the Google Form below – Bidding will open on Friday 8 December at 5pm and close on Sunday at 8pm. The highest bid will be reflected on the Instagram page and to people who use the Google Form. All artworks are A3 landscape in size.

Bid 4: Over 1000 people protesting at the Presidents House in Rondebosch for the donation of land through the State Land Disposal Act. Taken in August 2023, to date the President has not responded.

Bid 6: Reclaim the City gets on a taxi in the early hours of the day, from Ahmed Kathrada House in Cape Town to get to the the Supreme Court of Appeal in Bloemfontein for the hearing. AKH was occupied in protest to the refusal of the State to convert the Tafelberg Site into social housing. The court case of the same matter being heard at the SCA has been ongoing since 2016.

Bid 8: Aunty Amiena, a resident of Cissie Gool House in her home. Cissie Gool House in a building that was occupied in protest of the state’s refusal to convert the old Tafelberg School Site in Sea Point in affordable housing, while many residents of Woodstock were evicted due to tax-incentivised gentrification.

Bid 9: Reclaim the City’s ongoing protests to the City of Cape Town to develop well-located affordable housing, has seen some progress with the arrival of the new mayor taking up the cause. However, the physical production of well-located affordable housing in Woodstock, Salt River and the inner City remains to be seen.

Bid 10: Reclaim the City protests on Rondebosch Golf Course, with RTC leader Bevil Lucas. Golf courses in Cape Town are patent reminder of open spaces reserved for white sport while people of colour were forced further out of the city during apartheid. The effects of this form spatial apartheid persists.
Artwork will be available for collection or delivery once payment has reflected. Artworks can be collected on 11 – 13 December from our offices on 18 Roeland Street Cape Town, or can be delivered via Courier Guy to anywhere in SA (approximately R115) at the buyers own cost. Section 18a Certificates are available on request.
